Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Studyula processes, why we use it, who we may share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights available to you.

Last updated: 16 September 2026

Summary

Studyula is an AI-powered learning platform. We process the data needed to operate your account, let you study with your own materials, generate quizzes and flashcards, show progress, provide institutional features, and protect the service. We aim to use personal data only for defined purposes and only to the extent necessary.

1. Who does this policy apply to?

This policy applies to visitors and users of studyula.com, the Studyula web app and PWA, individual learners, teachers, counselors, institution administrators, and parents or guardians who use authorized Studyula features.

2. Data controller and contact

The Studyula service is operated under the Studyula brand. Privacy questions and data-rights requests can be sent to support@studyula.com. The operator’s formal trade name and postal details may be added to this notice when the final business registration details are confirmed.

3. What data do we collect?

Depending on how you use Studyula, we may process account and identity data, email, date of birth and country, login and security records, consent records, uploaded learning materials, notes, questions, AI conversations and outputs, quizzes, assignments, study plans, progress data, institution memberships and roles, guardian relationships, subscription and payment-status records, notifications, and support or privacy requests.

4. Why do we use the data?

We use data to create and secure accounts, process learning materials, provide AI-assisted study features, generate and evaluate learning activities, show progress, manage institution roles and permissions, administer subscriptions and quotas, deliver service messages, provide support, investigate errors or abuse, and meet legal obligations.

5. Legal bases for processing

Where applicable, processing may rely on performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests such as service security and fraud prevention, establishment or protection of legal rights, and consent where the law requires it. The exact basis can vary by country and type of processing.

6. AI features and the content you send

When you use the AI Assistant, quiz, flashcard, assignment or similar AI features, your prompt and relevant portions of selected learning material may be sent to an AI model provider so the requested feature can work. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive information. AI outputs can be wrong and important academic information should be checked against reliable sources.

7. Educational institutions, teachers and guardians

Institutional access is role-based. A teacher, counselor, administrator or guardian may only access information permitted by their role and relationship. Guardian access is not automatic, and shared reports can be subject to expiration, revocation or other access controls.

8. Who may we share data with?

We may share data with hosting, database, infrastructure and security providers; AI and model providers; email and notification providers; payment and subscription providers; authorized institution users and guardians; and public authorities where disclosure is legally required. We do not grant recipients broader rights than needed for the relevant service purpose.

9. International data transfers

Some service providers or infrastructure may operate in countries different from yours. Where required, we aim to use appropriate legal mechanisms and security measures for international transfers. Mandatory local data-transfer rules continue to apply.

10. Cookies, local storage and session technologies

Studyula uses necessary and functional browser technologies for secure sessions, CSRF protection, language preferences, PWA functions and related service operation. Details are provided in the Cookie Policy.

11. How long do we keep data?

We retain personal data only as long as needed for the relevant service purpose and for legal, accounting, security or dispute requirements. Account and learning data may remain while the account or feature is active. Deletion can remove or anonymize personal learning data while records that must be retained for legal or security reasons may remain for the required period.

12. How do we protect data?

Studyula uses measures such as access controls, role-based permissions, secure sessions and cookies, encrypted network communication, password hashing, security logs, rate limiting, backups and operational monitoring. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

13. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to receive information about processing, access a copy, correct inaccurate data, request deletion or restriction, object to certain processing, obtain portable data, withdraw consent, and complain to a competent authority. Identity verification may be required before acting on a request.

14. Privacy of children and teen users

Studyula’s individual learner experience is designed for Grade 5 and above. Minor learners may be subject to parent or guardian consent and additional safeguards depending on the country, legal basis and feature involved.

15. Automated analyses

Studyula may create explainable learning analyses and personalized study recommendations from signals such as quiz results, flashcard reviews, assignments, topic mastery and study activity. When enough evidence exists, whether a recommendation was started or completed and the following learning outcome may be used in a limited, controlled way to improve how future recommendations are prioritized. When evidence is insufficient, the existing safe recommendation logic remains in place. These tools support learning and are not intended to make sole high-impact legal or similarly significant decisions about a person.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Studyula features, providers, security practices or applicable law change. Where a change is material, we may provide an appropriate notice through the service or another reasonable channel.
